very expensive pen - 09:04 AM

i found the google store the other day & saw a cool light-up pen so i decided to buy it. with international orders they email you after you've made the purchase to let you know shipping costs, etc. i figured it might cost at least the value of the pen to send it, but hey, it's something a bit unique, so i waited to receive the email.
i got that email this morning. there's a $25 processing fee for international orders included in the shipping, so it would cost $86.88 to send me a $5 pen. i don't think so.
even if i was buying a whole lot of things, that would be too much. i don't understand companies that insist on charging so damn much to send things internationally. can't they just go down to the post office?? ugh! that's the first time ever i've been dissatisfied with anything googley. at least they give you a chance to cancel the order. *grumble, grumble, grumble* 
It certainly seems to be a very US-centric way of doing things, and sadly it's far from unique. Thankfully the better companies such as Amazon don't do this sort of thing.
hey coralie, if its here in the states....then tell me what it is you want, ill buy it, and then mail it to you, it shouldnt cost more than 10 bucks to mail it to you....lemme know
I just came across the google-shop for UK,Europe, Australia and other countries and remembered that you wrote a long time ago about it in one post. They send the stuff from UK, but the shipping cost seem to be lower. I pretended to order two pens and the shipping cost to Australia were GBP 7.25, which is about AUD 18.55, and over there they don't seem to have a stupid processing fee
