new freezer & a juice extractor - 07:46 PM
(filed under 'general')

it seems to be the time to buy new kitchen appliances. we wouldn't have liked to spend the money ordinarily, but our freezer died today. we just stocked it with lots of meat for us, too, as well as it having heaps of mcgarnicle's meat in it, so we had to replace it straight away. there were no second hand places nearby, so we just bit the bullet & bought a new one. it's a kelvinator upright freezer only, 300 litres. (i'd convert that into imperial measurements, but i don't know what type of measure you use for fridges when it's not in metric.) being new, at least we know it's got a decent warranty & will last a while.

i did a deal while i was there on a juice extractor. we've wanted one for a while. this one has a five year warranty on it! not bad. means it should be pretty good quality.

i made some juice for shroom earlier & i'm dying to make some for me now, but smiley's asleep & i don't want to wake him, so i guess i'll have to wait. bum. i could really go some juice right now.

new new kettle - 09:09 AM

i went back to david jones yesterday & they swapped my dead kettle for a new one. she said she hadn't had any others of that brand returned, so let's hope i was just unlucky to get a dud one.

i used it last night & this morning & it's fine so far. time will tell.

warm night again - 07:21 AM

it was another warm night last night. i not only threw off the doona, but i took my pajamas off in the middle of the night, too, after i was still lying there sweating. shroom disagreed & stayed rugged up until morning. it's funny how two people (well, three if you count smiley, but he can't tell me yet if he's hot or cold) can share the same bed but experience such differences in temperature. i guess it's all relative.
