still jammed - 02:55 PM
it's no good. i can't get it unjammed. ordinarily, i would take a screwdriver to something which isn't working, but a sewing machine is a precision piece of machinery. a tiny adjustment here or there can really screw it up. i'm not going to touch anything inside which doesn't ordinarily move when i put my foot on the pedal.
i'm going to have to call a repair man. hopefully he can come as soon as possible, because i hate stopping in the middle of a project. my machine is a rather old singer (that's the exact same model, same colour & everything), so at least i know it's nothing electronic. it's all mechanical, baby.
machine jammed - 01:42 PM
damn it. the sewing machine has jammed. usually i can clear it, but i can't seem to get it to move this time. i can't see any thread caught in there. i already removed a piece anyway, but that obviously wasn't what was jamming it. i've pulled out a bit of dusty fluff which might have been the cause, but that's not it either. bugger. how annoying. right in the middle of making my little bags to sell. if i have to call a sewing machine repair man to fix it, it's going to eat into the money that i'll make from selling the bags.
i guess i'll play around with it for a bit longer & see if i can clear it.
windy - 12:49 PM

wow. it's really windy outside. it has been for the past few days, but today especially so. i wonder if it was as windy time time last year?
mouse trap - 11:12 AM
last night stu (shroom's mate from canberra who's visiting at the moment) & i set a mouse trap in the pantry with some peanut paste on it. i opened the pantry door this morning wondering if i'd see a dead mouse but all i saw was the trap, sans peanut paste, still set, & several mouse droppings sitting around the trap as if the mouse was thumbing his nose at us .. well, so to speak.
retching - 08:31 AM
lovely topic for breakfast, but hey, i'm a mum & it's all about the bodily fluids. consider that your warning if you're squeamish about such things.
now that smiley is eating food which is chunky, rather than smooth mush, he's actually vomited a few times. i mean real vomits with retching, not just a "blah!" & liquid, if you know what i mean. it's been nothing major, just a bit of a noise & small spew.
