still jammed - 02:55 PM
it's no good. i can't get it unjammed. ordinarily, i would take a screwdriver to something which isn't working, but a sewing machine is a precision piece of machinery. a tiny adjustment here or there can really screw it up. i'm not going to touch anything inside which doesn't ordinarily move when i put my foot on the pedal.
i'm going to have to call a repair man. hopefully he can come as soon as possible, because i hate stopping in the middle of a project. my machine is a rather old singer (that's the exact same model, same colour & everything), so at least i know it's nothing electronic. it's all mechanical, baby.
mechanical gremlins. i get them all the time. nasty little beasts. can be more annoying than puter gremlins, which vastly outnumber their mechanical cousins.
Yeah, if you mess with the machine too much you'll knock the timing off for good. Been there, done that. Hope it doesn't need a new bobbin casing, that can run over $100 US. Good luck with the reapir.
