smiley is fun to watch as he plays by himself in his corner full of toys. he's amusing himself by putting things in a little box, then taking them out again, choosing something else & going through it all again. it's really cute. he looks so intent on it.

well, it's just smiley & i (& the dog) for the next 24 hours or so. shroom & stu are going to climb a mountain for sunrise, so they've left to stay at the sunshine coast overnight.

yes! i've found a repair man for the machine & he's cheap as! just as i suspected when i actually found someone local in the yellow pages, he's an older gentleman who has probably been doing it for years.

a full service will only be $45. excellent, excellent. the only drawback is that i'm going to have to take it to him, which means unscrewing it from the cabinet it's attached to, but that's not such a biggie. he said that there's a new oil which has only been out for about a year which doesn't harden, so it helps the machines stay happy for longer.

as soon as stu wakes up (he's sleeping in the spare room which has the sewing machine in it) i'll get it packed into the car & head off to see this man. he might even not mind if i stand & watch while he fixes it. that would be way cool.
