mouth fishing - 08:17 PM

it's funny how life changes day by day when you have a baby & the focus of what you do mostly for that baby also changes. when they're very young, you seem to spend a lot of time puttng them up on your shoulder patting their back to get burps out while they cry in pain. or you may spend time cleaning up spews.

these days, i've been spending most of my time saying, "smiley .. what are you munching on?" & putting my fingers in his mouth, fishing out things which shouldn't be in there.

As told by my parents: lots of dry cat/dog food. And dirt *smile*

Yeah, so far I've extracted from Alia's mouth:
- enough odd bits of fluff to make a jumper
- three pieces of dog kibble
- onion skins (not the flesh, just the papery skin she likes)
- grass
- leaves
- daddy's shoes and socks
- loose cotton that spilled from the sweing machine table, and
- a spool of cotton, same origins
She's a creative scrounger, I'll give her that *smile*

I remember this stage with my nieces. Keeping stuff out of the mouths of two marauding 6 month olds is quite a challenge. They seem to also have eagle eyes at this stage and will find the one tiny little thing on an otherwise spotless floor. Wait till christmas! Tinsel is a nightmare...but maybe he'll be past the indiscriminate cramming of items in the mouth by then.
