no more mice - 08:36 PM

you know, i think that the mouse we caught really was the only one. since we got it, there have been no more mouse poos in the pantry & i haven't heard any more scratching around going on in my underwear drawer late at night. i always assumed that mice hung around in groups, but maybe this one liked it so much inside that he didn't tell his mates. he wanted it all for himself. heh.

aside from the slowness of it i'm all back to normal now with this other computer i'm using. shroom fixed the email issue. it was just the firewall. nice & easy fix. 
it's going to take me a while to go through the email which has arrived while i was away from my own computer, though. i got about two thousand spam emails.

i'm back on a computer. i'm using the one which used to be my old machine which was being used as the proxy server (enabling us to share the internet connection to both of our computers). the one i was using which died is out of action for now (shroom said it does require a new motherboard, which will then also need a new processor & new ram, since the old ones won't be compatible with a new motherboard) so this is what i'll be using for while until we have the money to fix the old one.
it's not terribly special (it's very slow & i have to sit & wait for it to do things. i also still can't connect to my email for some reason. i'll get shroom to look at that for me later), but at least i can sit at my own desk, using my own keyboard & mouse with mostly everything set up the way i like it. anyone who's ever had to use someone else's computer will know how odd it is.
