smiley got a toy today from my sister via mum, from when she visited her. it's a little push along or ride on car type thing. smiley was just pushing it along by holding onto the rail thing at the back of it, while walking along behind it. i pointed it out to shroom & he said, "he can put ernie on there & push him around on it." i asked, "that ernie?" pointing to the sesame street ernie toy lying on the floor.
shroom looked at me with raised eyebrows & after a short pause replied, "do you know any other ernies?"
i was about to get annoyed at him because he obviously knew what i meant, until i realised that it really was a pretty stupid question.

i've just learned to never leave the zip of my handbag open when smiley is roaming around with a cracker.
