mongy crawl - 08:08 AM

smiley does this weird, mongy crawl just lately. well, it's not really a crawl, it's more of a bum-shuffle. he sits with one leg kind of under him & the other leg out straight & shuffles along on his bottom with the one leg tucked under, using his arms to help him move. it's not a very fast way to get around. he's much quicker with proper crawling. he usually moves like that for about half a foot & then starts to crawl properly. funny kid.

sounds a bit like what stephanie used to do. she never really crawled properly, but she could really get about with the bum shuffling.

I think I recognize the bum shuffle that your little one does, I used to do it many many moons ago, but my mum called it rowing, and my brother who is 14 months younger than me also did it when he was little and copied me. we never ended up crawling the normal way .
I also think the son of Anna Karenina in the novel by Tolstoy also rowed.
