my docs (doc martens, that is) have been sitting in the corner of our bedroom untouched for about a week, where a few pairs of shoes sit that we put on & off regularly. we were going shopping so i had to put shoes on. this is the first time i've left the house in a week or two & needed to put them on any proper shoes, so i brought them out of the bedroom to put them on. my socks were still in there, as is my habit if i'm only wearing my shoes for half an hour at a time, so i pulled them out & put them on. i then put my feet in & laced them up.
as i stood up, the heel of my right boot felt different to the left heel. it was a little springier than usual felt & kind of, umm, crunchy, i guess. i was going to just ignore it because it didn't hurt or anything, but it felt a bit odd, so i unlaced my boot, took my foot out & looked inside. i laughed as i tipped my boot upside down over my hand & a now very broken cracker fell out.
gosh .. i wonder who put that in there?
or a science project gone all green and hairy. (other forgotten food stuffs)
