moving house - 04:44 PM

i haven't said much about it here, because the details still aren't certain, but we'll be moving house at the end of the week. as to where we'll be moving to, well, we're not exactly sure.
there are two options. the original plan was to move half an hour away to our old place. that's what we were getting ready for. the second option is three & a half hours away, depending on if shroom gets the job for which he's currently in the running.
the agency responsible for listing the job just called & said very good things about his chances of getting the job. it's one that he & i really both want him to get. we won't know for absolute certain until the end of the week, as the man responsible for choosing hasn't yet seen all the applicants, yet he's said very good things about shroom to this agency lady. in the meantime, we pack up some stuff & wait to see where we'll be going.

smiley just had his first proper walk while wearing shoes. he's only worn socks up until now, except for one occasion in the back yard where he just did that weird goose-stepping thing which babies do when they first wear shoes & he hardly walked at all.
shroom is chainsawing half a tree in the back yard (one which fell down in a huge storm we had some months ago) so i thought i'd take the opportunity to let smiley walk up there with me. he did well. at first he wanted to pull the shoes off & then he just sat there for a bit, but as i walked further away calling his name he followed me & seemed to get used to the shoes quite quickly.
he looked pretty cute (but then that's not a surprise, is it? 
) in his little denim shorts with a white onsie (a 'real' onsie, that is, all the way from the usa. thanks, tj) & his little blue & white shoes which matched his outfit beautifully.

oh my gosh. it's a momentus occasion. i just folded the laundry & every. single. sock. had a pair. i'm in shock.
