offline for a few days - 06:55 AM

as an aside to my previous post, we're going to be offline for a number of days. hopefully it won't be too long, but i really don't expect to be online before friday. it is possible that it could be longer.
our phone won't be connected until thursday & then it depends on how busy we are with getting everything unpacked to its proper place. shroom will be starting work on friday, too so it also depends on that (you know, with him being busy making sure he's ready for work).
there are no public internet access places where we are going. there are some in the backpackers hostels, but only for guests. i've been told that the only public place closed down just over a week ago. bummer.
so i'm going to be a bit scarce online (& having major withdrawal symptoms) for a week or so. bye all & we'll see you from the new house!

yesterday we were absolutely flat out preparing for our move today.
well, it was indirectly related to the move. in the morning we took a load of stuff to the dump, then continued on to shroom's parents' place to leave smiley with them while we did some work at the other house (the one we ould have moved into if shroom hadn't got the job up north) to prepare it for tenants. there was a bit of painting & cleaning to be done still. then we went back to his mum & dad's place for a farewell lunch. after lunch (which was absolutely divine, as usual & we ate far too much of it, also as usual) we left smiley with them again & went back to do a few more hours.
we picked up smiley & then headed off to mon & greg's parents' place where they'd arrived from the drive from sydney only a couple of hours earlier. mum & bill were there as well, so we all had a chance to catch up one last time before we head off today. mon's two girls finally got to meet smiley & they just adored him, of course. monnie desperately wanted more cuddles from him, but he was too excited about all the new toys to sit still for very long. greg's mum had made a bit of dinner for everyone, so even though we were still rather full from lunch, we had some of that which did us well for the rest of the evening.
we left there at about 7pm & came home to finally just chill a bit. there are still a few things we have to do here, but thankfully there's not a lot left. we just have to touch up with paint a few holes that i filled from things which we're taking with us which were screwed into walls.
we also have to pack up anything which the movers won't move (flammables, pressure packs, that kind of thing), i'll be taking the dog to the lady who's going to transport him, give the chooks to her as a part trade & then take some pictures of the house just to help show what condition we've left it in.
we'll leave once the movers are done (which hopefully won't be too late) & then stay in a motel overnight.
it's going to be a huge day.
