no shampoo or conditioner - 08:00 PM

after reading a while ago in various places on the net about people not using shampoo or conditioner anymore, but instead using bicarb soda & vinegar, i've decided to try it for myself. i only have to wash my hair about once a week anyway, so i've only done it once in the last week since i decided to give it a try.
the first time it's worked quite well. my hair looks nice & is managable. time will tell if it continues to do a nice job.
slowly, slowly, i'm becoming more & more friendly to myself & to the environment. 
truck load lost - 11:59 AM

there was big news in our little town yesterday. a load came off the back of a truck. i have no idea what it was, but i saw it lying at the side of the road just coming out of town. the truck, sans big heavy thing, was parked a few hundred metres further up the road. what had come off looked like a huge metal monstrosity. a solid, mostly rectangular piece of metal about as big as some people's lounge rooms with bits sticking out of it.
i guess the driver took the corner too fast & off went the big scary thing onto the side of the road. by the time i went past it, the traffic was diverted around it & there were official looking people standing around it looking as though they were wondering how on earth they were going to get it out of the road & back on the truck.
there was even a tv camera there taking images. big news. heh.
