smiley is amazing. he can sleep through almost anything, it seems. he's been that way since he was born.
he didn't go to sleep until about 10:30pm last night, so he's still sleeping. the floor guy is here (the one who prepares the floor for the new lino) with his compressor & his staple gun & his hammer making all sorts of loud noises & thumps, but smiley hasn't even stirred once.
.. & just now the guy who'll be laying the lino has arrived, prompting a nice loud round of barking from mcgarnicle. i spoke to him through the bedroom door (one of which opens into the side hall which is being refloored) so the barking was going on right near poor smiley, but still he didn't even flinch. he's such a good sleeper.
