new flooring - 06:15 PM

half of our new flooring is done. well, not exactly half. i should rather say part of it has been done, if i want to be precise (which i often do).
it looks quite nice. i chose a lino flooring which is printed to look like old, dinged & scratched up wooden floor boards. sounds like an odd choice when i could have chosen any lovely pattern, but really this was the best choice since i had to match it to the existing lino in part of the lounge area which isn't to be recovered. the existing lino is a bit of a dated pattern, although it's not really ugly, just a bit unattractive.
the wooden floor boards print lino i chose looks about as natural as lino can look & with the printed on scratches & dents, once it really does get scratched & dented, marked by shroom's boots, by the dog's claws & eventually smiley's crayons, it won't be as obvious. the flooring place had some wooden floor board lino that was printed like new floor boards (as opposed to the old scratched up one i chose), but it looked really fake. in other words, it looked a hell of a lot like lino with wooden floor boards printed on it.
the front & side hall are looking quite lovely, i think. the guy who laid the lino did a top job, too. it'll all be finished by the time i get back from my visit to brissy.
