smiley has a book with pictures of objects representing each letter of the alphabet. of course for 'c', there is 'cat'. he points to the cat a fair bit. sometimes i've told him that a cat says, "meow!"
just now he pointed at the cat & made a cat noise. so cute! 
he's made a kind of dog noise before when i've been playing with one of his dog toys & made it bark, but this is the first time he's recognosed a picture & made the noise.

Are you serious? lol. What on EARTH have you been speaking to him about for the past 12 months? He should be saying lots of words, and be encouraged to make as many sounds as he can at this age. Talk to him ALL the time, tell him the names of EVERYTHING. That's how they learn language. hugs
