i really hate that stupid rudolph the red nose reindeer song. rudolph is a bit different so all the other reindeer tease him & have a go at him. then when santa gives him an important job, suddenly all the other reindeer think he's so wonderful now & want to be his friend.
get real!! what a stupid set of values to teach kids: anyone who's a bit different than everyone else is to be vilified, but if you can gain from them, if they're so-called important for some reason, then be nice to them.
what a stupid song! if i ever hear that song while i'm out & about with smiley i'm going to tell that it has dumb values & that people who are different or individual should be valued, not treated as though they're lesser human beings. 
it does relate to peer pressure. one kid is different and the others pick on him. but each entity has its talent. and all talents are needed. perhaps the rudolph story is a peek at this. its a lesson to be learned.
...And what about those six white Boomers? Poor things! How cruel. And why did Joeys mother abandon him? Where did she go? And how cliched Santa is, even after he has lost weight? And surely snowmen are racist too? All that white can't be good....
I hate Christmas so much- where is the original spirit of Christmas? All it is now is the landfill of crappy Christmas decorations, and more and more Christmas merchandise (not to mention to being encouraged to buy the love of those around you, spend beyond your means and then spend a lovely day dredging up resentments aeons old....)
It seems like every third song this time of year is about Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Why don't we hear more about the tenth reindeer, "Olive?" What do you mean, "Who?" You remember, don't you: "Olive, the other reindeer, used to laugh and call him names."

maybe the lesson you should teach riley out of it is how silly all the other reindeer are, look at santa, he doesn't care if rudolph is different or not. and when all of the other silly reindeer see that, they realise how dumb they were after all
