i just had a thought. i hope smiley does his morning poo before we leave for brisbane. i don't mind changing pooey nappies, but mucking around with a slimey nappy & a slimey kid in the car on a road trip is less than desirable.

ugh! getting ready to go somewhere, even for just a few days, takes so much planning & effort. you have to make sure the dog has a place to stay, that there's no food left in the fridge which will spoil, bins are emptied to avoid cockroaches or flies getting in there, washing is done so there are clothes to wear for when you come back, kid is bathed & clean for the trip, that you have enough food for the kid for the long drive, things to keep the kid amused, christmas presents ready to be transported then wrapped, not to mention packing the correct things to have everything you'll need when you're away.
when i was a kid, all i remember was jumping in the car & leaving. lol!

i just found a christmas card slipped under the back screen door from our neighbour, sue & her family. that's so nice.
