beading - 07:31 PM

i've started doing beading & i'm really, really enjoying it!

i made a necklace/bracelet & it's up at our shop now. you can see it (& purchase it, if you wish) here.

i've made a few more, but they're not up at the shop yet, or aren't quite finished.

getting out of bed on his own - 07:11 PM

this morning smiley got down out of bed without us, but i helped him down.

when he woke up from his midday nap today, he didn't even wait for me to come to get him when he woke. i heard him cry, took a few seconds to finish what i was doing, but before i could reach the bed, there he was standing at the door coming to me all on his own.

i knew he could handle getting down off the bed without any help, but this was the first time he's done it with me not even in the room. clever boy.

puffy eye update - 11:10 AM

for those who are interested, smiley's puffy eye is going well. i've had a few suggestions of using breast milk to treat his eye, but i have yet to figure out how to get the milk from my breast into his eye. lol!

anyway, the saline is doing the job okay in the meantime.

my lovely new(-ish) flat screen lcd monitor has a line through it. i just tried turning it off & then on again & it didn't clear it. i hope it's not broken. if it is, i hope it's still under warranty.

i'll try rebooting later. hopefully that'll be all it needs.

this morning was the first time that smiley got down out of bed without us, ready to play on his own while we still lay in bed.

mind you, i only lay in bed while he was within eyesight since there are a few items around the house which aren't quite toddler-proof, especially now that he's able to climb. as soon as he wandered out of the bedroom i got up to follow him .. & to put away the noisy toys since shroom is still sleeping.
