bracelet from new zealand - 06:11 PM
my mum went to new zealand for a holiday a few weeks ago & brought back a present for me. i hadn't seen her in person since she came back, so since i'm in melbourne now, she sent it to me here. it arrived today & it's really nice! it's made from paua (sp?) shell. if you can imagine little squares of it, just over 1cm wide both sides & about half a centimetre thick, set into silver metal so that the silver kind of frames each little sqare. then each one is joined up side by side with two rows of elastic so that you simply stretch it over your hand.
it's lovely. mum has trouble sometimes knowing my style, but this time she chose really well. it's relatively solid looking & quite heavy .. exactly the sort of thing i like. nice one, mum. i love it. thanks.
