home to a new place - 11:22 AM
in about a week or so i'll be heading home. i haven't booked the flight yet, but i'll be looking into it today or tomorrow. it's going to be a bit different going home though, because i'll be going home to a place i've never been to before, to a new house & a new area. a totally new area, if fact. about six hours drive west of where we were living.
i didn't blog about it here before i left for melbourne because nothing was finalised yet, but shroom's got a new job in emerald, which is in central queensland. this week he'll be preparing the house to be packed up & moved to emerald! he's going to call me tomorrow & give me more details about when he starts the new job so that i can hopefully be there with him before his first day on the job.
it was kind of an adventure coming here knowing that i would be leaving again to go back home to almost any place in australia. in reality, somewhere in queensland was most likely, but melbourne was an option, too.
it was kind of funny when any of dad & tosca's friends asked me where i lived, i had to say, "well .. that's a very good question." it was hard to answer since i really had no idea!
the reason i took my holidays here now, while things were still up in the air is because we weren't really sure how easily shroom would get a new job, so he suggested i visit with dad & tosca now, since we didn't know when we'd be able to afford it again. it worked out pretty well in most ways, because shroom's been able to sort out things at that end without having to worry about smiley & i. he's been a bit lonely, but daily emails & pictures of smiley have helped. i had a really long talk to him on the phone this morning too, which was excellent.
i'll be able to post an update again once i know more details, so i'll talk to you all then.
good luck on your new adventure real girl. we'll be nail-biting to hear more.
Man, you're so close to "Helen Country" - look on the map of the area for Dululu (Between Biloela & Rockhampton)and that's where I grew up...
I'm horribly impressed. I'm not sure I could have done this, too much of a control freak I fear. But man, part of it definitely appeals. Such a great adventure.
Whoa! Nothing like dropping a bomb into your life! Dang girl. Kinda sad, bye-bye Brissie---but kinda exciting having a brand new adventure like that. Can't wait to hear more (and see pics, lots o'pics, hint hint).
How rural will you be out there? Maybe get neighborly with some of the native wildlife out there, eh?
Woot?! Aren't you getting unsettled/detached with all this moving around?
