poor sick smiley - 10:35 PM

poor smiley has a cold or the flu or something. yesterday morning i'd arranged to meet with my new friend, denise, at 10am today, but by yesterday afternoon smiley had a mild fever & a runny nose. we sms'd back & forth a few times & decided that it would be best to postpone. just as well really, because it's escalated to a full on head cold.
the poor little bugger has been sneezing some rather impressive creations out of his nose all day & when he's slept he's been waking & having a cry & then going back to sleep again. i suspect he's got a headache &/or sinus pain to go with his runny nose & occasional cough.
he's been quite clingy, too, as you'd expect. i've been happy to be there for him to cuddle, but it is rather tiring. i hope i don't get it as well. it'd be a miracle if i didn't though, since i've been the one he's been sneezing on, as well as the one who's cleaned him up after each sneeze.
when he's been feeding he's only been able to by having a suck or two, then opening his mouth to take a little blocked up sounding breath. he even sounds like he's got a cold. poor little smiley.
surprisingly, he's been quite talkative. he's been chatting away to me quite happily for parts of the day. i have no idea what he was talking about, but he was quite involved in his subject. my thoughts are that he finds the sound of his voice different & interesting with his head all blocked up & so that's why he's been relatively vocal.
i've been giving him some pain & fever relief to reduce the fever a bit & hopefully dull the headache i'm guessing he's got, but he's still been quite warm. he tends to have a hot little body even without a fever, so with one, he's been creating quite a bit of heat.
let's hope the cold works its course fairly quickly & that he's better soon.
