i just made another smoothie (the first one was for brekky this morning) with banana, rockmelon & yoghurt. i made it even better, or depending on who you ask, worse, by throwing in a tim tam. yum!

my mum bought me an overlocker & it just arrived!
years ago mum said that she'd buy me an overlocker for an engagement or wedding present, but when shroom & i were married it wasn't such a good time for mum, so it didn't happen. she hadn't forgotten about it though, & has been talking about it with me for the past few months.
she called the other day & said that she'd bought one for my birthday (in just over a month) & that it should be delivered in the next few weeks, but it was much quicker than that.
very exciting. hopefully i'm going to have lots of time over the easter break to play with my excellent new toy.

smiley seems to like plastic animals as much as i do. of course, he's a kid, he's meant to like plastic animals.
i think i might buy some more for us .. i mean, for him.

i went to the naturopath yesterday in hopes of treating a health issue which has been bothering me for ages (nothing life threatening, just something kind of personal which affects my life). he sent me away with some tablets & some herbs.
the herbs are in the form of a gross looking black liquid which i have to take twice a day before food. he mentioned a couple of times that the herbs don't taste very nice. i've had to take it twice now .. & wow. he wasn't kidding.
thank god i have to take it before food, because if it was the other way around & i wasn't allowed to eat or drink anything for a while after taking them i'm not sure i could do it. it is just about the foulest tasting thing i have ever tasted in my whole, entire life.

it also seems to have given me the worst smelling case of wind i've ever had. i must remember not to fart anywhere in public while i'm taking this stuff. people will think something has died.

i had morning tea with my new friend, jess, at her place yesterday. this is the second time we've caught up for morning tea. the first time was here at my place, last week.
she's really nice. she's a lot like me in many ways. she sews, she's into cloth nappying (although, to my shame, i've had smiley in disposables for a few months with all the moving & visiting going on lately), breastfeeding, doing things to be kind to her body (& her family's bodies) & the environment.
we get along really well. it's so nice to be able to talk to a new friend so easily & share so many important interests.
this morning i'm heading to my other new friend's place (denise is her name) for morning tea. so far i've only managed to catch up with her at playgroup, which isn't terribly conducive to a decent conversation, what with running around after our kids & all.
in fact, i should get off my computer now & do the morning things i have to do before we have to go. i might make myself a fruit smoothie for brekky. yum.
