my mum bought me an overlocker & it just arrived!
years ago mum said that she'd buy me an overlocker for an engagement or wedding present, but when shroom & i were married it wasn't such a good time for mum, so it didn't happen. she hadn't forgotten about it though, & has been talking about it with me for the past few months.
she called the other day & said that she'd bought one for my birthday (in just over a month) & that it should be delivered in the next few weeks, but it was much quicker than that.
very exciting. hopefully i'm going to have lots of time over the easter break to play with my excellent new toy. 
i've now linked to a page with the overlocker that i have.
no one in any other countries seems to know what an overlocker is. i had lots of questions when i got mine too.
i know in america they call them sergers, maybe they do in the uk too...

Hello, Coralie, rosyelf here. I had fun reading your blog and trying to work out what an overlocker was ! The online dictionary we consulted said there was no such word. But then David found a PICTURE of an overlocker on another site ! Am I right in thinking it's a sort of specialist sewing-machine ? We thought at first maybe it was a glass-fronted cupboard, but decided you could hardly play with it over Easter!
