yahoo groups email - 10:48 PM

oh my gosh! i thought i had a lot of personal email (which has finally finished downloading, thankyouverymuch). i then decided, with much trepidation, to check my yahoo groups email. over six thousand of them!!
i reckon they might take all night. at least they're all text emails though, no attachments, so it might not take quite as much time/bandwidth as my personal email.
needless to say, since they're group emails, i don't think i'll be reading all (more like any) of them. 
.. maybe i'll just do a search for my name on the off chance that i'm mentioned or spoken to somewhere. it's not terribly likely.

i'm currently downloading every email that i've received since about october of last year. that's a lot of email.
in case you're wondering why, well, for various reasons (most of which were so long ago that i've forgotten them) i've had to use the web interface of my website email (i.e. anything that comes to ...@ferrousland.com) since that time. previously, i would use eudora & download the email to my actual computer.
i like keeping all my mail (you know, Just In Case .. i'm a hoarder, it's terrible) so rather than delete the mail as i've read it via the web interface, i've kept it all for when i'm finally back on my own computer with my own data drive .. which is now!
so now i'm downloading almost two thousand messages. it's going to take a while.
unfortuntely, they all come down marked as 'unread' & i'm not going to read every single email since that time just to make sure i replied to it. so if i accidentally miss replying to a message of yours & you're thinking that i'm rather rude for not replying, it wasn't intentional, i promise! most of them i would have replied to when i saw them anyway so hopefully not too many people are going to think i'm rude.
if you were someone who was sending email to my gmail account (i was using it when i could, since the user interface was much quicker & easier to use than my webhost's web interface), you can now resume using the normal one, if you prefer.

i shouldn't have stayed up so late last night. i was wide awake in my head (mostly because i thinking about the best way to make a washable, fitted nappy liner which i've been designing in my head for a couple of weeks .. & i think i've got it!) even though i was sleepy physically, so i ended up getting out of bed & staying up until just after 3am. i should have just stayed in bed & rested because now i'm stuffed.
oh well, live & learn .. although i know i'll do it again, i'm sure.
