smiley's started problem solving on his own. i posted a picture here (the last pic on that page) where he was standing on a box to reach the light switch, but the box just happened to be in the right place & fall over onto its side as he was playing with it.
now, he's begun moving things around intentionally so that he can reach stuff he wants to get to.
he began a couple of weeks ago with another box (the empty overlocker box) & moved it to where he wanted it to reach the light switches & play with the lights. he loves switching the lights on & off.
he used that same box to reach the bits of the stereo/video/tv set up which he can't reach just standing on the ground.
he's also been pushing & pulling chairs around to get to things on the kitchen table, such as the bananas which he's been enjoying lately.
yesterday he was having a breastfeed on the couch with me & was tired & wanted to lie down, but i was sitting up, so he took the couch cushion & positioned it between me & himself so that he could rest comfortably. i thought that was pretty clever.
it's amazing how much he's doing & learning this past month. he's going through a learning explosion. it's amazing to watch.
