nipple twiddling - 09:03 AM

this entry is going to get some good search phrases to it ..

smiley has a new breastfeeding habit. he's been doing it for the last couple of days & it's drving me nuts. he insists on having both boobs out while he's feeding & then plays with the nipple of the other breast.

he kind of twiddles the nipple with his fingers, or gently taps it with his open palm. just before he was pinching it.

if i stop him, or try to put it away back into my bra, he gets all cranky until i take it out again. he went through a stage like this once before & i'm pretty sure that he stopped pretty quickly. i hope he gets bored with it again quickly this time, too, bacause it's really, really annoying.

last night i would have been heard to yell, "no twiddling the nipple!!" i wonder what the neighbours must think? *chuckle*

Have you tried making a nursing necklace, something that has a bit of texture to it so he can twiddle that instead? Sometimes that works, unless he's instinctively trying to speed up your milk *wink*

i'd be telling him no too... ain't no one be sitting there fiddling with MY nipples. don't they get senstive and sore??
and doesn't it make a mess, since wouldn't that stimulate milk to come out?

Does he ask to breastfeed? If so what does he say? With the way that he is now talking wouldn't surprised me if he didn't say "Titty Mommy" and lift up your shirt!
