spewy phlegm - 03:39 PM

yech. all i can smell is spewy phlegm. or maybe it's phlegmy spew.
i desperately need to do a load of washing because smiley's run out of clean shirts. he keeps coughing up phlegm & spewing on them everytime i change him. i can't move though because he's fallen asleep sitting on my lap (with his head on my desk. it's very cute. i got a pic. i'll post it later) & i don't want to wake him.
my shirt is also smeared in various places with snot, phlegm & spew.
anyway, at least he doesn't have a splatty bum like yesterday.

i know you're not supposed to have dairy when you have a cold, but about the only time i really crave milk is when i have a cold. i figure my body knows something that i don't, so i don't ignore the craving. i drink milk.
smiley seems to be the same. he almost never wants (cow's) milk, but now that he's got a cold he's asked for it twice already. i'm giving it to him. so call me a bad mum. heh.
so sick, so unhappy - 07:57 AM

poor smiley. he's just getting more & more sick. what started out as a dry cough about 36 hours ago has developed into a full on snotty-nosed, congested chest, coughing up spewy pools of phlegm, feeling absolutely miserable cold.
at night he's hardly been sleeping for more than an hour at a time, waking regularly from coughing up phlegm or just from feeling so yucky. when he has been sleeping, it's been draped over my chest or in the crook of my arm or on my shoulder. i think having his head raised a bit is more comfortable for him.
right now he's snuggled up on my lap against one bare breast. he keeps asking for boobie, but doesn't want to drink, just wants to lie against it. i think he might have fallen asleep.
my poor little baby boy. i wish i could make him feel better.
