drawing things - 06:12 PM
smiley's started to draw 'things'. i'm not sure what they are, but he puts a lot of effort into them. they mostly consist of what coud best be described as kind of circles. sometimes he's even drawn something & pointed to it, making the noise for it, like a lion's roar or the "ssss" of a snake.
it's very cute.
i've been taking regular pictures of his drawings. i might put a few together into a photolog entry soon so you can see his progress. i'll link to it from here when i do, of course.
heh. right now he's doing a two-handed drawing with a red pen in his left hand & a blue pen in his right hand. lots of circles & stabbing dots. lol!
oh, i almost forgot! yesterday he drew two (really good) circles near each other, pointed to it & said, "car." that's how i (& probably most people) start drawing a car, with the two wheels. i was really impressed!
Drawing is FUN. I remember drawing and painting all through school (something I inherited from my grandfather :P).
What is really surprising is how well a child draws by the time they are 8. My youngest daughter (soon to be 9) can draw a horse with remarkable clarity: saddle and all.
Encourage Smiley when he does a new picture, and keep track of the pens, pencils, crayons, etc.
