rash the other night - 12:24 PM

i had to take smiley to the hospital again the other night. the second time was about three days later after his ear infection when i noticed some spots around his bum & pelvic area when i changed his nappy. i took note of them as something unusual & made a mental note to check on them again not too much later. just half an hour later they were all over his chest & back!!
the doc at the hospital (same one as i saw with his ear infection) checked him out & said it looked to be nothing to worry about & was more than likely just his body's reaction to healing from the ear infection.
it hasn't spread & he wasn't itchy or anything with it, so i guess it was all good. when it spread so fast initially though, i was a bit worried. so many of the really scary baby/child illnesses begin with rashes/spots that i wasn't going to take a chance.
fortunately, this hospital visit was quite a short one as it was state of origin night (it's a football game. can you tell i'm excited about it? not) & the place was practically dead (for want of a better term for describing a hospital. *snort*). i guess people were too wrapped up in the game to want to fall ill. about the only falling ill to be going on that night would be from people having had far too much to drink, i suspect. heh.

well, as i should have suspected, & probably knew deep down anyway, there wasn't just the one mouse. shroom saw one zooming past out of the corner of his eye the other night & sparnicle's been running into corners & sniffing madly. so maybe we will need to buy a mouse trap after all .. unless mcgarnicle can get the other one like he did the first one. i suspect that the first mouse wasn't as fast, or was maybe just a little more foolhardy, than the second one.
i can also hear something chewing away in the ceiling above me right now, as i type.
