busy, busy! - 11:32 PM

if you're wondering where i've been lately, i've been flat out doing jewellery stuff! i'm rather pleased with what i've been up to, actually.

firstly, i guess i'd better link to some new items i've put up at the shop since i forgot to do that when i made them a week or two ago:

autumn candy, a charm bracelet.
aphrodite, necklace with amethyst & fluorite.
scribbly gum, this one sold at the markets last weekend, a necklace with a paua shell pendant & some spunky wire work.

so today i spent a lot of the day at a place about forty minutes drive away, called station 8. it's a gorgeous little devonshire tea/gift shop which we took shroom's mum & dad to when they were visiting a month ago or so. i took most of my jewellery there a few weeks back & put it on display to sell on commission. so far one piece has sold.

the reason i went there was to attach a gorgeous little information tag to each piece. clever melanie came up with the idea to make these beautiful little gift card style tags from business cards. you wouldn't know they're business cards. they're just adorable. i've attached them with matching ribbon, & also put on some very professional looking price tags, so now each one looks much more visible & very attractive. i'm hoping it might increase sales. we'll see. even if it doesn't though, each piece now has my information on it & details of the piece (i.e. what it's made from, what stones/beads are in it, etc) as well as stating that it's covered by a ten year warranty.

i took some pics of my little display & of the rest of the shop while i was there. i haven't done anything with the pics yet, but i'll post some them eventually & link to them from the front page, of course, so you picture-hounds will just have to be patient. *wink*

i've been making fudge, too. the first time i took my fudge to the markets i sold about $60 worth. the second time (my local markets are only on once a month) i sold about $100 worth, so word seems to be spreading. i've been experimenting with a mars bar fudge. so far it's been too soft, or had not enough mars bar in it to tell the difference between it & the milk chocolate flavour. the batch that i sell at the markets will have a slightly different ratio of mars bar to chocolate melts, so hopefully it'll be a winner. either way, the milk chocolate, dark chocolate & caramel flavours sell well, so i'll still do okay. let's hope the sales increase yet again!
