adsl finally? - 03:38 PM

finally, we're booked in to get the adsl installed! ages ago (in may!) we applied for asdl & were supposedly going to have to wait another couple of weeks. i forgot to update about it, but we've waited so much longer than we were supposed to.
we called up a couple of weeks after the phone line was installed (we were on the college's pabx system before that) & i knew there was going to be trouble when i called up & the lady that i spoke to put me on hold, then came back on the line & said that she was going to put me through to someone else.
the guy told me that we couldn't get adsl at the moment because there were no more ports available & there weren't going to be more installed until early july. nice of them to tell us that. i wonder how long we would have been waiting if i hadn't called them? *raises eyebrow* (need a raising eyebrow emoticon.)
i was really annoyed & said to the guy, "so when we were told that adsl was available in our area, it wasn't really available at all?" he got a bit flustered & said it was the way the system worked etc, blah, blah, blah, excuse, excuse. *rolls eyes* (need an eye rolling emoticon as well.)
fast forward to earlier this week when i thought it must be about time. i called them & they said that they were actually due to come this friday & hadn't anyone contacted us? bit hard when we're on dialup & almost always connected. you'd think they might have tried to reach us on the mobile phone.
so the new appointment is for next thursday. finally our phone line will be free & our surfing speed will be faster than a crawl. woohoo! really looking forward to it.
