'out' instead of movies - 09:42 AM

we didn't end up seeing our movie last night. the movie schedule (the recorded message by phone) was a bit confusing, so when we got there, there was a different movie on starting much later. we decided that since we'd arranged for our respective boys to look after the babies that we'd stay out & go for a couple of drinks instead. which we did.
there's a nice tavern just across the road from the movies, so we went there & sat in the public bar with a drink or two. turns out that karaoke was on that night & when i saw that, i jumped up to be the first to sing (i used to actually sing for a living a while back). i did dancing queen, since i know it back to front & i know i can do it well. the guy who was running the karaoke was quite impressed & told me about a talent quest thing on next wednesday in blackwater, a neighbouring town about forty-five or so minutes away. there's prize money for it & the other guy who was there with the man running the karaoke said, quote, "just do what you did tonight & you'll piss it in!" okay. lol!! 
i wasnt even in very good form last night since my voice was a bit rough from talking over the music.
i reckon i'll go & see if i can win some money. i'm pretty sure i'm remembering correctly that the man with the mic said the prizes were $200, $300 & $500. can't complain about that.
so even though we didn't get to see our movie, we had a really nice time & got to have conversations which we could actually finish! i think it had been a really long time for all of since we'd been out. it was good. 
Oh, go for it! It'll be fun, and bet you come back with some money to boot!
Very cool. This could be the unexpected start of a very interesting adventure.
But what I can't figure out is why Ferrous, the digital girl, was calling in for the movie listings and not checking it on the web.
Or is the town small enough that it doesn't do movie listing on the web yet?

At the you three 'mums' went and had a nice time doing stuff.
Hint: you could try to make it a weekly thing, too.
