our stuff stolen in emerald - 08:46 PM

do you remember when we were still in emerald how we had to have a huge garage sale for all the things we couldn't take with us to bahrain? well, there was heaps & heaps of stuff left over & we called lifeline to get them to pick it all up. there was lots of good stuff that the charity would have been very happy to be able to sell. there would easily have been thousands of dollars worth of stuff for them.

there was so much stuff there for them, in fact, that they couldn't fit it all in the truck on the one day per week that they did pick ups & were going to come back the following week to get the rest. i was leaving for brisbane that very same day, so we checked with the college maintenance guy that it was okay to leave it all under the porch ready for them to come back. that was all fine.

we heard, however, that after we left, some members of the college staff came & went through all our stuff taking what they wanted. i couldn't believe it! how rude!!

not only rude because they had plenty of chance to buy stuff from us at only $1, $2 & $3 for most things, but because technically it wasn't even stealing from us, it was stealing from a charity!! we reported it to the police in emerald & they were very interested to hear about it.

i like to believe the best of people most of the time, but that sort of thing just makes me really angry, disappointed & sad. it'll be interesting to hear what happens.

I linked over from Cyberjazzdaddy's site. I have been reading for a few months. I am a prosecutor, so I usually suspect the worst of people. Once I get to know someone, it's different. The party crashing sounded fun too. God bless
