smiley's never really had much experience with stairs before. he's been able to get up & down stairs on his own with no trouble when he's come across them, but now that we have a set of stairs in our house, he's doing really well.
when we first arrived he would only climb up them with both hands on the next step, sort of a stair crawl, but just today he went up the few steps from inside the garage to the house without holding onto anything. he just stepped straight up them!
when he uses the internal stairs to go to the second level, he now likes to hang onto the railings on the ballustrade & remain upright as he goes up each step, one foot up & then the other foot on the same step.
i imagine it won't be long until he's climbing stairs like a professional.

i got a new pair of glasses, mostly because i wanted to get photochromatic ones for the bright sun here in bahrain. i chose rimless frames. i quite liked my old pair (aside from how they were a bit crooked after a few years of wear) but i think my new ones are a big improvement.
as for the photochromatic aspect of them .. well, let's say that i'm glad my eyes aren't all that sensitive to the sun anyway. they don't go as dark as i expected. unless mine are just a crappy version (& one would hope not, going by the cost of them!) there's no way that a pair of photochromatic lenses can be a replacement for a proper pair of sunglasses.
i took a comparison pic of me in each pair, the old & new & put it together as a composite. take a look, if you like.
