chair chucking - 10:20 AM
speaking of stairs, the other day i got the biggest fright. i was in the garage, unpacking some items from the few boxes we have left & i heard an almighty crashing down the stairs finishing with a huge bang & then smiley screaming & crying loudly & seriously.
i ran so fast to the bottom of the stairs. shroom came running from upstairs somewhere as well. thank goodness though, it wasn't smiley lying at the bottom of the stairs, it was shroom's new office chair, now in two pieces.
smiley was at the top of the stairs freaking out & still crying. he'd rolled shroom's chair from the computer room to the stairs & had pushed it down to see, i suppose, what would happen .. as you do when you're a kid. i guess he hadn't expected such a loud & scary result.
shroom's chair was mostly fine. the chair piece had to be sat back on top of its base & the arm had snapped in one place, but that can be either replaced or glued back together. even without either of those options, it's still totally useable.
my heart took more than half an hour to stop beating fast. it scared the crap out of me thinking that it might have been smiley that i'd found at the bottom of the stairs.
a 2yr old would surely figure out how to open it, or climb over it,that is a problem but
if he is going up and down the stairs by himself he doing fine
a fine academic study on a wheeled apparatus transversing an uneven terrain with full gravity in effect. fine job professor smiley. i'll be looking for the final white paper on this.
