smiley seems to have a couple of favourite colours at the moment. i bought him a little car set thing which has a track with a loop-the-loop thing (you know, you send the cars down the track & they race around the 360 degree loop & all the way to the end) which came with four toy cars. there's silver, red, purple & blue. his favourite of the four cars are the purple & the blue cars.
at megan's house, particularly this week just gone while i was babysitting madeline, madeline has a little ball machine toy (you send the balls down on a twisty, turny path & watch them make their way to the bottom of the contraption) & a collection of rubber ducks. the favourite balls in the ball machine toy are the two purple ones (& he spent most of the week asking where the second purple ball was after it went missing) & his two favourite ducks were the purple one & the blue which, incidentally, were an absolute match in colour to his two cars.
i wonder what it is about those colours that he likes them so much?

easy. blue and purple are masculine. red is the natural color for danger. yellow and pink are feminine. silver is too neutral and uninteresting. blue and purple are manly colors. for instance, all my cars and shirts, picked out by me, have been blue, white or gray. my thought anyawy.
