symmetry - 10:07 AM
smiley seems to have a highly developed sense of symmetry, just as i do.
one time when i was drawing to his instruction, i drew a squiggle in one corner. he had me draw matching squiggles in the other three corners & then other matching shapes or lines over the whole page. you could almost have folded the picture in half & had a mirror image.
on the barney the purple dinosaur site (ergh. i so hate barney the purple dinosaur!) there's a game where you can build up a castle scene by adding trees, windows etc. on every single crennel or embrasure at the top of the castle (i had to look up what they're called. i was going to call them 'square sticky-uppy things') smiley put a tree. he didn't miss a single one.
so it seems this overdeveloped sense of symmetry of mine might be hereditary.
mcarabia - 09:19 AM

mcdonalds, arabian style. i'm sure there are other menu items which are 'arabified' as well, but this one is a classic, to be sure! it's a pic at flickr, so click the link to see it.
new word - 08:13 AM
smiley tried a new word this morning. he had the lid of a little cooking set he's rediscovered which jade gave him ages ago & which he quite likes & was asking for the 'blue circle' which goes with it. i told him it was a fry pan & tried to teach him how to say it.
i said, "fry pan."
he said, "fright. man."
"fry pan."
"fright. man."
"fryyy. paaan."
"pripe ann."
"fry."
"pry."
"pan."
"fan."
"fry pan."
"pripan."
"close enough."
