everybody get sad - 09:43 PM

i was at the shops tonight with smiley, walking back to the car, when he started being a bit silly & began to run off through the car park. he was only able to get a step or two away before i grabbed him & sternly told him that it's not safe to run around in a car park because a car might accidentally hit him & then he'd be squished & mummy & daddy would get very sad. he said, "get sad," & i agreed, "yes, we'd get very sad." i said that nanna & poppy would be sad, too.

on the way home in the car he kept repeating all the way home, "nanna get sad," then "poppy get sad." .. ad inifinitum.

even when we got home, everything we passed on the way inside was sad, "bike get sad," & "shoes get sad." then through the house & upstairs, "sink, sad" "water, sad" & even "stairs get sad."

i lay down in bed with him as he went to sleep & he'd pipe up every minute or so out of the blue with various other objects that would get sad such as adam's blue fish: "adin's blue fish, sad." (it's a little blue LED light that looks kind of like a fish. he gave it to smiley the other night at the party.) even the boobie (he was having a feed at the time, so he had to hop off the boob momentarily for each sad thing) would get sad.

it was really quite amusing. it's funny how kids latch onto little things like this & just keep going & going & going .. & going ..

he finally stopped, but only because he fell asleep. lol! *chuckle*

at least you know he understood you *smile* or maybe he was just thinking of all the things that he'd miss. i love child logic. 2 year olds have the quirkiest personalities *smile* I have another year to go before my niece is that age.

Here's something that reminded me this smiley storey.I'm visiting my friend right now and he has a doona cover with this german character on it and at the bottem it says"without you everything is stupid" then it as a picture of various items such as trees, flowers, the sun, a butterfly, a beetle and then a picture of a cartoon guy. Beside all of these things is the label of the object and then an arrow and the word stupid. It's all written in german and it's really funny.
