day five of gastro - 01:08 PM

smiley's still sick from his bout of grastro, but he's showing definite signs of improvement. i spoke to a friend who said her little girl had it once & she said that it took about six or seven days to go away, so i'm not too concerned that it hasn't passed yet.
on day two he ate a tiny bit of toast. on day three he ate hardly anything again (aside from a few breastfeeds). day four he ate quite well, considering. he even ate a small piece of banana.
today, day five, he's still quite lethargic, as you can imagine since he's hardly been eating anything. after the one day where he seemed to have a bit of energy, he's not been that energetic since.
generally, day by day he's been eating a little bit more. some toast, a little bit of cereal with extremely watered down milk, a bit more banana, as much water as i can get into him sip by sip, & some lemonade with the bubbles shaken out of it.
he's been sleeping heaps, which i would assume is a good thing. he's been throwing up less. the diarrhoea has continued, although not quite as severe, but i'm not worried about that too much as the doctor said it would continue for longer than the vomiting.
i've been staying with him all day, every day, since he came down with it. i don't feel right going off to the gym & leaving him with kalyani when all he wants to do is be on or near mummy. tonight there's a (supposedly) famous dj performing at a huge event nearby & i was planning to go, but i can't lewave smiley when he's so sick. he is definitely better than he was, but i'd simply not enjoy myself knowng that he's at home wishing he was with me.
he seems to be getting better each day, slowly, slowly.

Poor little Riley. I hope he gets better soon. 5 days seems a long time for a little kid to be sick wth gastro but then again I'm not a parent so I don't really know what's normal! Make sure you don't get sick yourself cous!
