surprise phone call - 11:55 AM

i woke up this morning to an email from shroom's dad, smiley's poppy, rudi. he wrote:
"Hello Cori, You won't believe it, we got a surprise phone call this morning 1-00am our time ie 6-00pm your time( I thought someone must have died so I jumped out of bed to answer it) . I could hear Riley trying to have a conversation and I could hear you in the background telling him to put it down. He is a very smart boy to call his Poppy. Thank him for me............Regards.....Rudi"

i remember him playing with the phone last night shortly before we were heading out to a bbq & i recalled thinking to myself, "i hope that he hasn't actually made a call this time. i'd better check."
i got him to give it to me & i saw on the display that it had been going for thirty seconds. it starts counting the seconds after a call is connected (which i only just found out now to confirm that) so he did indeed manage to make a call! i didn't realise that last night, so i could have actually said hello to rudi before hanging up. oh well. he was probably too sleepy to talk anyway. hehe.
i guess he must have hit the redial button.
