how the gym is going - 07:47 PM

here's an update from the gym. i moved onto another new program yesterday. the last program had some cardio throughout each day, but this one has a bit more cardio each day, as well as a whole day of cardio, just like when i first started. i mentioned to justin (my trainer) that i wanted to maximise weight loss over the next month since i'm leaving for australia in exactly one month.

almost two months ago, i was very pleased that i had reached one hundred ab crunches. i was doing that with four sets of twenty-five abs. now i'm doing fifty abs for each set! i can't say i'm doing two hundred crunches now, though, because i'm usually mixing up the types of ab exercises. i'm doing two sets of fifty crunches (often one set on a fit ball & then the other on an incline) & a few other types such as the obliques or maybe catching a ball (justin throws it to me while i sit on a fit ball, i catch it on the way down & then throw it back to him on the way up), or making a bridge. there are so many more ab exercises than i previously knew existed. some of them are actually kind of fun.

the weights i'm lifting are increasing all the time & the time spent on machines (such as the bike, treadmill or rotex, for example) is longer & with greater resistance.

even i can see the difference now when i look in the mirror, not just other people whom i haven't seen in a few weeks. my face is thinner & i can see the difference in my arms & shoulders as well. my gut is shrinking a little bit, but it's not as obvious to me yet. my thighs still seem to be as big as ever, but i'm sure there's got to be some fat shifting from there.

i'm pleased that when i'll eventually be looking back at mum's wedding photos years from now, i won't grimace & think, "oh my gosh. look how big i was!" for quite a while now i've wanted to return to a better & fitter me & i'm very happy to see that it's happening. i'm also really looking forward to seeing people whom i haven't seen in six months & them seeing a really noticable difference .. so they'd better say something! lol!! *chuckle*

oh, one other thing [cue "twighlight zone" music]. today when i took off my shoes & socks, one foot had sweated copiously, but the other one didn't seem to have sweated at all. my other sock was completely dry. [more "twightlight zone" music .. do-do, do-doo, do-do, do-doo]

just going back to oz for one month. taking the extra time there to visit as many people as possible, since it's such a long journey & such an expensive one, too.
