choosing his clothes - 10:47 PM

smiley is into choosing his own clothes, lately. today when we dressed to get ready to go to fit kids, he wanted to wear a little button-up-under-the-crotch outfit with 'i love bugs' written all over it in colourful writing which is meant for babies (it's a rather large size), his dark blue shorts with the 'seat belt' (it's got a little built-in buckle up belt), & no less than two hats.

it was a look, i tell you.

a lampwork bracelet - 10:40 PM

i seem to be on a bit of a creatice roll. i made another bracelet the other day. see the pics here.

i used the most gorgeous lampwork beads from a lady by the name of lisa crispin. it's the first time i've ever used any lampwork beads. i quite like what i did with them.

gift shopping done - 07:49 PM

going overseas for an extended stay with friends & family is quite a task, it turns out. there are heaps of things to think of. one of those things is gifts for the people with whom i'm staying.

some people i'll only be staying with for one, or maybe a few nights, but others i'll be staying with for up to a week or more. some are also doing really nice things for me, like lending me their cars for a week & more.

so i did some gift shopping at a store that stocks arabic & ethnic gifts. there were some lovely things there. they range from gifts costing only 500 fils (that's about AUD$1.85) to really world class items made by master craftsmen for over BD100 (AUD$370). i got everything i needed at that one shop.

i can't mention here the things that i bought, because some of the people i'll be staying with read my site regularly & i'd like it to be a nice suprise for them, so i'll just say that i'm really pleased with the lovely things that i got. i want to show my appreciation for the nice things people are doing for smiley & i, so i bought accordingly.

there are only three more sleeps until we leave on wednesday evening. not long now!
