first night away from mummy - 02:07 AM

with everything that i'm having to do to get ready for mum's wedding today (i'm not part of the bridal party, so it's not strictly necessary, but i thought i'd make it a bit of special day for myself as well by having a pedicure, manicure & my hair done), i thought it might be good for smiley to stay overnight at nanna & poppy's (shroom's mum & dad's place) last night.
his cousin, jesse, stays over reguarly on a friday night, so it was perfect timing to try him away from me overnight for the very first time since we were in hospital after he was born.
i dropped him off there at about 10am yesterday, so by the time they bring him back to me here shortly before it's time to leave for mum's wedding at 2:30pm, he'll have been away for more then twenty-four hours!
i called last night in the early evening to see how he was going & they said he'd been having a ball with jesse & hadn't missed me at all. very good news. of course, i've been missing him terribly. i called again about half an hour ago to see how he went during the night & he slept right through! mind you, running around with jesse all night (he's nine or ten, i think) would have tired him out quite well.
i wanted to talk to him yesterday when i called, but i didn't really want to remind him that i wasn't there & then possibly make him all upset when he was perfectly happy being busy with his nanna & poppy & cousin, so i contented myself with just knowing that he was having a lovely time.
what a big step for mummy to be away from him for so long. lol! 
oh....and glad to see you pampered yourself as well.
