after i reported the return my period, i bought something which i've wanted to try ever since i heard of it, but haven't had the opportunity since i haven't had the need for it.
actually, i lie. at first when i saw it online (jade told me about it) i thought, "ewww!" but as i looked into it further, i realised that there's no reason my period should be eww at all. it's a perfectly normal thing to go through & there's certainly nothing wrong with it, or shameful, or gross, or something i need 'protection' from as the big companies who sell sanitary pads & tampons keep trying to convince women around the world.
so i bought a thing called the keeper. i've been using it quite successfully for the first twenty-four hours or so of my second period since i was pregnant with smiley.
mind you, i think i still have to trim the little tail thing a tad more. i feel like i'm being jabbed from the inside. it's certainly not painful, but it could be more comfortable. aside from the small adjustment still required, it's been marvellous! no leaks, no less comfortable than wearing tampons.
it arrived twenty-four days after the beginning of last one, rather than the 'usual' twenty-eight (i say 'usual' because every woman is different of course). i wonder how long it'll take to move into a more regular cycle?
i have a keeper too. i found that if i push on the center of the lid, and hear the little pop, the fruit will keep fresher in the fridge a lot longer. no....wait, am i confused here?
what the heck are you talking about? "the keeper" hyperlink (?) goes back to one of your earlier posts!!! Me confused!
sorry about that, michelle & everyone. the link has been fixed now.
I find the 7 fold technique works best for me.
I've been thinking about getting one of those, or a mooncup or whatever, but now I'm not so sure as I'm also thinking of getting an IUD. There's conflicting info over whether they're compatible.

i found i needed to trim the tail of mine way more than the instructions say you should, too. i think i cut it pretty much all the way off.. you can still grip the bottom end and you need to give it a tiny squeeze anyway to break the suction effect. much more comfortable that way
