fell in the pool - 05:49 AM

smiley had a little fright just before. as far as scares go, it was the best way for it to happen.

smiley was outside with poppy & i heard him come up to the front door, crying as though he'd hurt himself. i wasn't all that worried, because i knew he was with rudi, but when rudi opened the door, there was smiley, totally soaked from head to foot. he looked like a drowned rat! i couldn't help but to laugh, but poor little smiley was still rather upset. i went & grabbed a towel & rudi & i stripped him off & wrapped him up.

i gave him some boobie (he was asking for boobie as he does when he gets a fright or hurts himself) & i knew he was fine because after about two sucks he started telling me all about it.

he was standing with poppy around the edge of the pool while "poppy catching leaves" & he "fell in pool. yeeesss." he also "got jarmies wet" & "got pants wet" & his cute little leather "shoes wet too!" it's just as well that "poppy was there. took me out".

i guess smiley got too close & slipped or something. i'm actually quite happy that it happened the way it did. we've always told him to be very careful near the pool, but at least this way, he knows that it can be scary to fall in & he might be a bit more careful next time. i'm glad rudi was right near him & only had to reach over to get him out.

poor little smiley. what a fright he got!

lucky he went straight in. he could have slid down the side and scrapped himself up good. lots more trauma to come.

Glad to hear he is okay. A bit of an experience. Crying more from a bruised ego than actually hurt.
Time for the lessons in the ol' doggy paddle. Mark Spits can teach the butterfly later...
