i've so enjoyed my trip here to thailand. i could live here. seriously. it's something that would be possible, too. shroom really loves the place as well, thus why he's been here more than once already.
in bahrain there's no life. aside from the people, the place is kind of dead. there are few birds or wildlife (except for copious numbers of cats), barely even any insects, hardly any trees, not much to do except try to avoid the intense heat. some of the people are nice, but there's a big expat community which tends to not get involved with anyone but themselves.
here there are trees & birds & insects & really friendly people. the expats here mix with the locals. in fact, they're usually married to them. most of the people that live here have learned at least some of the language. they seem to respect the people of the land more & want to be involved with them & immerse themselves in the lifestyle here.
if i could send for smiley to come here & just stay here forever, i would. it's a hell of a lot closer to australia than bahrain anyway, so if i'm going to live abroad this would be a better option in that regard as well as the fact that it's got more life to it.
who knows. it might happen.
so my flight leaves tonight. not sure if i'll get a chance to blog again before i go, but i will if i can. i'm going to meet our friend, mam, at about 2pm today so she can take me to a place nearby where i can get my hair braided. last night she had hers done in a half braided style & it looked really lovely, so i think i might choose the same for my hair. when i arrived, i saw a few women at the airport with their hair totally braided from top to bottom in the afro-american style, so i'd prefer to have something slightly different anyway.
with your eye for nature, bahrain must have been frustrating. no wonder there was a down turn in the number of pics. missed them.

Been reading about your's & Shroom's explore of Thailand. It's great to hear you both had a wonderful time.
