i took some pics of smiley on his birthday:
- decorating his cake with hundreds & thousands & cleaning his hands afterwards.
- putting the candles on.
- candles are lit ready for him to blow them out.
yeah, i know there were lots more candles than just three, but he really liked sticking them into the cake, so we let him do as many as he wanted. hehe.
also, in case you're wondering, the bandaid on his face is to cover an old mozzie bite which he just can't leave alone. keeps picking it, so i have to cover it up to let it heal.

in case you were wondering what's happening with my travel plans, i'm heading back to bahrain in one week's time. i'm not going back there to live, though, because shroom's given his notice at his job & we'll all be coming back to australia.
so the visit will be a short one, just two & a half weeks or so. i'll help pack up our stuff, then we'll take a short stop over in chiang mai in thailand (only for a few days this time) on the way back to australia.
i'm not looking forward to the seventeen hours travel time to bahrain, but hopefully things will go relatively well, as they did on the trip here. even with an uneventful flight & with smiley sleeping a lot of the time, it's still exhausting & rather stressful.
