far out. my period has gone for nine days so far! i was talking to jade & she reckoned that it can take a while for your period to get back to a regular cycle once you start again after having a kid. this is my fourth one since i started menstruating again.
the first three were actually a bit shorter than they used to be, but previously, they used to go for about eight days until there was nothing. it's definitely slowing down, but usually at the end of the eighth day there was no more blood. this time i'm still getting spotting on the ninth day. if it was any heavier than that, i'd be on kind of low alert, but i'm not concerned at this stage.
After both my babies, mine did the same thing, came back heavier and longer than before-baby. (Mind you, I only had two periods between having Alia and conceiving Elizabeth, so I'm really talking about the 7 periods I've had since Elizabeth was born, the first of which arrived when she was 10 months old).
I have to say, I am grotesquely jealous of yor almost 3 years of bleed-free. Mine came back at 9 months post-partum (with baby 1) and 10 months post-partum (baby 2) and yet both times I was still breastfeeding heavily when it returned, at least 4 times in 24 hours (probably more than that with Alia from memory). Ah well, nature has its own strange ways.

Oh ugh 9 days of it but I guess it is to make up for the months where you didn't have one???
