far out. my period has gone for nine days so far! i was talking to jade & she reckoned that it can take a while for your period to get back to a regular cycle once you start again after having a kid. this is my fourth one since i started menstruating again.
the first three were actually a bit shorter than they used to be, but previously, they used to go for about eight days until there was nothing. it's definitely slowing down, but usually at the end of the eighth day there was no more blood. this time i'm still getting spotting on the ninth day. if it was any heavier than that, i'd be on kind of low alert, but i'm not concerned at this stage.

last night i shaved my legs for the first time in about six months. perhaps it was the disposable razor (whereas previously i've used one of those fancy-schmancy mach3 razors), but my goodness, my poor legs. you should see them now!
for starters, i bled from about ten to twenty spots on each leg for about an hour. then when i got into the pool (which was the reason i shaved) they were stinging like crazy. today they have red spots all over them inside pale little circles. it almost looks as though i've got the pox or something! okay, it's not really that bad looking, but waxing has never been this unkind to my legs.
i suppose the spots aren't actually any worse than the occasional area of shaving rash which i've had previously, maybe it looks so bad because it's covering almost all of my legs from the knee down.
usually i do wax my legs (the last time i did it myself with nads) & have been happy with doing that, but since i'm trying not to spend much money while i'm here, i hadn't gone to the salon to get them done & thus they were looking rather dark & hairy. i could have brought my nads stuff with me, but i'm trying to travel light, so i only brought the minimum of 'beauty' products. if you know me at all, i'm not one for getting all prissied up much anyway .. however, i do endeavour to at least not look like a monkey.
i'm sure my legs never reacted this badly to shaving previously. perhaps the mach3 shaver really does have its merits. maybe it's not all marketing hype, after all. i certainly noticed one difference in that i had to shave over the same spot more than once with the disposable. with the mach3 i only ever had to make one pass over each section of leg.
my poor legs. i'm sorry legs. i promise never to do that to you again. next time you can just look like the legs of a monkey & i'll still love you anyway.
